2022 Marin Pine Mountain 2 in excellent condition.

For lack of a better term I'll call this a "mountain bike" but it's really an extreme terrain touring machine ready for pretty much any bikepacking challenge you can throw at it. If there's a better platform for doing the Divide Trail, I'd like to see it. The perfect zombie apocalypse bike.

Steel frame (4130 cromo), SLX 1x12, 29x2.6 wheels. Reasonable and necessary upgrades include plush Marzocchi Bomber forks, Maxxis Minion tires set up tubeless, Thomson seatpost. Between that and getting the handlebars adjusted properly, that pretty much corrects the "gripes" noted in online reviews and has resulted in a very capable bike that has a great ride, like cruising around in a big Cadillac convertible. Very comfortable upright riding position. Numerous attachments points for bags, racks, water bottles and farkles. Unfortunately the dropper post had to go (they put the wrong size dropper post in there, it fits the Large frame but not the Medium) but, the way I look at it, it's kind of hard to argue with Thomson ... that said, I will include an NOS Specialized dropper post with the sale, you'll need cabling and a controller but if you want a dropper post, there ya go.

Very light use, I'd say it has about 50 or so miles on easy Florida trails. This bike deserves to get out more. (Me, I've developed an affliction for vintage bikes and need more room in the shed.)

This bike has kind of a unique fit due to short reach and tall stack. Marin suggests a height range of 5'6" - 5'9" which sounds about right, just realize it's not a typical "mountain bike fit." Good news is, if you're hard to fit (eg born into the body of a short dude, or a tall woman) this deserves a very close look. I'm a "fun size" dude, 5'7" with a 29" inseam and after messing around with setback I got it dialed in perfectly. I left plenty of steerer tube to work with. Just gotta take er for a spin and see you like it.

For that reason, and because I'm not really in a position to ship this thing until mid-August, I have it listed for local pickup. Good news is, I'll be making a big loop between Florida and NC over the next several weeks. I can meet in Gaffney SC or Gastonia NC week of June 24, Asheville area week of July 4, New Bern or Jacksonville NC week of July 8, and back to Tampa Bay area after that.

(Speaking of Jacksonville -- if you're active duty: a) thank you for your service; b) no, I don't know if you can mount a 50-cal to the handlebars, maybe; and c) yes, I can offer a discount)
