The Domestic R1 Bomber is now available in limited quantities. The R1 Bomber is inspired by the Repack downhill and bombing the mountain on clunkers and BMX bikes. Schwinn Sidewinders, Mert Lawwill’s Pro Cruisers and the last generation of clunkers defined the R1B’s aesthetic and component selection, specifically the coaster brake rear hub, drum style front hub and bitchin' chrome BMX style fork.
Domestic Bombers are hand built in California with US 4130 Cro-Moly and available in medium and large, taking geometry cues from modern mountain bikes. Wheels are hand-built and signed by the legendary Steve "Gravy" Gravenites using Sturmey Archer hubs (front drum/rear coaster), DT spokes, Basic alloy rims and Maxxis Rekon Race 27.5 x 2.25 tires. Components, as well as our bespoke chrome fork and leather saddle, are by Basic. Each Domestic Bikes Bomber is assembled by hand in Nor Cal., by a trained mechanic using a special green grease from Switzerland.
Available in Medium (17") and Large (19"). Black or battleship gray.
