WHAT A BEAUTIFUL COLOR SCHEME! Don't you just LOVE vintage 90s mountain bikes?
Hi, I'm the MTB Recyclist (@the_mtb_recyclist on Instagram) and I specialize in vintage '90s mountain bikes, particularly steel. This "Ice Violet to Ice Green Fade" is one of the most sought after colorways for Trek bikes of this time period. It's absolutely unique and gorgeous!
While the OVERALL condition of this frame is very good there are (full disclosure) quite a few nicks, marks and scrapes, some down to bare metal. (Side note: who treats bikes like this? I mean, COME ON! Sheesh.) There are spots of rust, although minor, that need to be mentioned. It's a 19.5" (center to top) model with a 22.25" top tube. 135 mm rear spacing. Not sure about the seat post but I believe it's 26.6 mm. It's True Temper OX Cro-Moly, triple-butted, and MADE IN THE USA!
Headset needs new grease, as you might expect, and the bottom bracket isn't great, I'd replace it. Front and rear brake cable hangers are present. Decals look good for the most part. No evidence of chainsuck whatsoever (the anti-chainsuck plate is present and undamaged).
About the shipping cost ... the amount shown is the maximum anyone would pay, and represents the cost to get the frame (safely packed in a bike box with multiple internal reinforcements - see the last photo) from my home in New Jersey to Seattle, Washington.
