1973 Frejus 56cm

Great example of a complete Italian racing bike from the 70’s. I bought it from the original owner with plans to do an eroica event but I couldn’t make it happen this year and the bike is too big for me anyway.

The owner had this bike imported in 1973 through a shop in Manhattan. I have the original receipt. He immediately had the shop replace the universal center pull brakes with campy record side pulls. Some time in the eighties, the owner had his local shop relace his hubs to Nisi mixer clincher rims.

Bike comes equipped with full campy record group set with the exception of the rear derailleur that’s been replaced with a nouvo record model from 84. I replaced the tires with 700x28 gravel kings. 100mm 3ttt stem with GB handlebars. Cinelli unicanitor model 55 saddle (first year of production)

Functionally, the bike is great. It could use new brake pads in the future and the Silca pump needs to be rebuilt. Aesthetically, there are some some areas of paint damage and not all the chrome is intact. There are no dents, dings, or cracks in the frame.

*note: handlebar mounted bottle cage is not included*

Question Are the stem and seatpost free to move and not stuck?

stuffnthings Seller June 19, 2024 5:14pm PDT

Yep they’re totally free. Nothing is stuck

Thanks much. Do you still have the original leather saddle and I'll talk to you tomorrow.

I'll buy the bike assuming it is Reynolds 531 throughout? I couldn't see the 531 decal. What is the next step? I have never purchased anything from this site.
