Waterford and Gunnar Shutting Down?

I saw a post about this on Facebook yesterday, and this morning saw the article on Bikepacking.com Say it ain't so! Richard Schwinn is ready to retire and so are several of his employees. Perhaps someone can step forward and continue the legacy? They have built some great bikes, both under the Waterford and Gunnar names, but also for Rivendell, Salsa, Milwaukee and others. They will be missed!

Richard called me two weeks ago to give his dealers/friends a heads up and said he would be sending an email. Kinda sucks that word spread before he got to do it formally himself.

I have personally sold over 100 Waterford/Gunnar/Fleet Velo bikes and know every customer was over-the-moon pleased with them. The legacy is strong and the five I own will be with me until my kids decide what is next for them. Vive Waterford Precision Cycles! ☮
