We had fun with this one. The goal was to show what to do–along with what NOT to do–and to keep it short and fun.

The biggest issues we see with listing photos on BikeList and elsewhere are distracting backgrounds, poor lighting and bad crops. It’s not rocket science! And keep in mind that when taking photos to sell your stuff is a bit different than pure beauty shots–you want to be thorough and show the good with the bad.

For anyone curious about the red and blue Eddy Merckx bike in the video: it’s one of bikes ridden by Thomas Bay, a professional rider from Denmark who rode with Motorola in 1993–along with Andy Hampsten, Sean Yates, Steve Bauer, Lance Armstrong and Phil Anderson–what a team! This is something of a holy grail bike for me and it’s definitely not for sale!

Our friend Sean Nichols from Rad BMX Builds has been very busy! And today he listed three more bikes for sale on BikeList! They include this 1984 Stu Thomsen Huffy Racing, this full custom 29 inch Craig Turner and this custom Mongoose Motomag (which sold in minutes).
