Greetings,
I'm selling my Raleigh Gran Course frameset in good condition.
The "Gran Course" was offered in 1984 as a frameset-only version of the top-of-the-line "Professional" model with fast-back seatstays, Prugnat lugs, Gipiemme drop-outs and a full tubeset of legendary Reynolds 531 steel (531c in particular, which is a lighter-drawn version intended for racing) - plus a rather sick '80s ivory to shark gray fade paint job!
TT: 57.5 cm (c-c)
ST: 61 cm (c-c)
Seatpost diameter: 27.2 mm
BB: 68 mm (English)
Rear spacing: respaced to allow for both 126 mm + 130 mm hubs
Max tire clearance front and rear: 30c easily, might get away with 32c (!!)
As you can see, the frameset is well-used and patinated. I personally love it like this - it gives the finished build a bit of a rat-rod look (cf. the included pic of it all built up).
The relatively steep angles make this frameset almost handle like a track bike. I liked it so much that I'm actually using its geometry as the basis for a custom frameset (hence why I'm selling). It was my intention to strip the frameset and repaint it, along with adding an extra set of water bottle cage bosses - which it definitely deserves!
Let me know if you have any questions!
