1981 SCHWINN LE TOUR TOURIST Restored and Upgraded
WHY WE LOVE IT
- This was Made in Japan for Schwinn of Chicago back before the brand was relegated to bargain big box stores.
- It's a Secret Speed Demon! The gearing can achieve some truly astonishing speed and agility. It can even climb!
- It's gorgeous. The original paint job shines like the sun. Spots of bare frame have been treated with rust converter to prevent future rusting. And it's been detailed by hand with Scratch Remover and Turtle Wax for added protection.
- It's comfortable and safe. The upright riding posture and swept back handlebar cuts down on strain, and gives you the highest vantage point to see and be seen in traffic.
- It's light! At barely 28 pounds, this 42 year old steel bicycle is lighter than a lot of modern aluminum bikes. For comparison, the 2015 Cannondale Quick has an actual weight of 31 pounds and handles like a brick.
- It's recently professionally tuned. Includes new cables and cable housing.
